We are a new-generation consultancy focused on the management, optimization, and automation of data with AI. We work every day to ensure AI is a real, ethical, and measurable competitive advantage for our clients.
TIMIA, the multinational company specializing in artificial intelligence, data, and advanced analytics that helps organizations transform information into real business value, today announced the appointment of Luis Echávarri as the company’s new President. With this appointment, TIMIA begins a new phase aimed at accelerating its growth and consolidating its position to serve complex and highly regulated organizations.
In a context where strategic information management has become one of the key drivers of business competitiveness, Echávarri’s appointment is aimed at strengthening the company’s ability to support organizations in their transformation processes based on artificial intelligence and data analytics.
With this appointment, TIMIA aims to expand its presence in the Spanish market, where it has been operating for about a year, and where it hopes to establish itself as a strategic partner for companies and institutions.
TIMIA’s priority sectors are banking, insurance, telecommunications, and energy. According to Echávarri, these are“industries that handle large volumes of data that need to be processed and analyzed, and that is where we specialize and have the knowledge and experience.”
“I am taking on this challenge with great enthusiasm and the ambition to establish the company as a global leader in applied AI. Our goal is to help organizations transform technological and regulatory complexity into tangible business value through the thoughtful and responsible use of data and AI,”says Luis Echávarri.
Echávarri has more than 25 years of experience leading projects, initiatives, and teams focused on information systems, data, advanced analytics, and, more recently, artificial intelligence at the enterprise level, spearheading high-impact technology transformation programs and managing high-performance teams.
Luis comes from Banco Sabadell, where he served as Head of Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, CIO of Data and Corporate Systems, and Group CDO, leading the company’s data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities, as well as the information systems that support critical areas such as finance, risk, regulatory compliance, and internal audit. There, in addition to driving the adoption of AI, he was also responsible for launching the transformation plan, spearheading several key projects related to data processing and availability.
Previously, he spent 17 years at BBVA, where his most recent role was Head of Information Management & Regulatory Engineering, leading global teams and complex IT projects in a highly regulated environment. He has also held senior technology consulting positions at KPMG and Bluetab, as well as management roles at Arthur Andersen in the Business Consulting division.
With a degree in computer engineering from the University of Deusto and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa, Echávarri combines his executive duties with teaching and executive training.
As president of TIMIA, he will lead the company’s international strategy and expansion with a clear goal: to help companies make a real and measurable impact through artificial intelligence and by making smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable decisions.
